Self-funding individuals are welcome. Our charges are as follows:

Self Funding:

  • First out-patient assessment: £375
  • Follow up (up to 30 mins): £170
  • Follow up (up to 1 hour): £335
  • Private Prescription (except controlled drugs): £30

May we advise you that any forms or additional letters of support will attract an extra charge.

Prof Rathod is recognized by all major insurance companies such as BUPA, AXA, Cigna, AVIVA, Vitality Health, WPA, Simply Health and Healix.

If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy; particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including excess treatment costs and any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees.

Online payments are the preferred option. You can make payments in advance or at the appointment.

For first appointments, or specialist services (ADHD/ASD assessments), if you are self-funding, you will be required to make the payment in advance, in order to have an appointment confirmed.

Patients whose care is funded by medical insurance may need to provide credit or debit card details for uninsured costs. Patients will be responsible for any excess payments or any other payments that the insurance company is unwilling to pay. We expect excess costs to be paid in advance of the appointment. If someone else is paying your bill you are still responsible for paying any charges which they do not pay. This should be paid in advance of the appointment.

Cancellation Policy

Should you cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee of the full value of the appointment charge maybe incurred.

Non Payment

In the absence of prior written agreement to the contrary, payment of our charges is required on receipt of our invoice. Failure to make payment within the stipulated time limit may result in the matter being referred to our debt collection agents, whose charges will be added to and payable with the invoice debt.

Information and Communication

We request that you bring the completed information and consent form which will be sent to you before your appointment. By signing this form you are agreeing to the terms of service of Wessex Psychiatrist. You will need to bring details of your insurance company, policy number and authorisation code for the appointment.
